Some Homelite chain saws sold after December 7, 2007, may have chain brakes that will not stop the chain until the paint wears off of the brake drum. If you purchased a Homelite chain saw model # UT10514, UT10516, UT10517, UT10518, UT10520, UT10540, UT10560, UT10580 or UT10918 after this date the chain brake may not stop the chain. Please immediately discontinue use of the product and contact Homelite Customer Service at 1-800-242-4672 to obtain the location of your nearest Homelite authorized service center. The authorized service center will operate the chain brake until it stops the chain. This service will be performed free of charge.
